Two years ago, my girlfriends surprised me with a gorgeous vintage tea set in delft blue with gold trim; it was love at first sight. Delftware, denoting blue and white pottery dating back to 1500’s Netherlands, has long been a source of inspiration in the fashion and design world. The fall 2013 runway saw Valentino resurrect the print beautifully; the same print that he used in the 1968 fall collection that propelled him to international stardom. I’m currently daydreaming of the Étoile Isabel Marant shift above and a summer garden party; the perfect excuse to use my pretty little tea set.

Recently, Vogue.com had LA-based fashion and interior designer Kelly Wearstler set a table for her fantasy holiday dinner party. Wearstler personalized the tablescape for her dream invitees, Martin Margiela, Alexander McQueen, Christian Louboutin and Dries Van Noten, using pieces from her latest home ware and jewelry lines. The result is eccentric, glamorous and fun - just like one would imagine the experience of sitting at this table for dinner might be. The spread definitely leaves you thinking: Who would you invite to your fantasy holiday dinner party?

Cobalt blue is quite simply the most universally flattering shade. Seriously; blonde, brunette or auburn, fair or olive - it works. This electric hue makes a statement, both as a part of your outfit, and your home. The perfect compliment for spring’s it-colour, tangerine, and a stunning pop against a basic black. I love the vibrant, blue chair which serves as a focal point amidst an otherwise neutral space above. Gorgeous.

While the beaches in Mexico are beautiful, the thing that captivates me most are the vibrant, hand woven textiles found lacing hotel decor and lining the streets. I snagged myself a pretty little beach blanket for summer, but regret not grabbing a Mexican ‘wedding dress’ such as the one pictured on Lucy Laucht above. Granted, hers is Paul & Joe, but the racks and racks of the real deal (at $24 each!) were way too sweet to pass up. I guess another trip is in order!
