When first discovering American designer L’Wren Scott’s left bank home, I was a little surprised at how feminine and serene it was. Not unlike her namesake label which is as elegant as they come, but certainly one who shares a home with the legendary Mick Jagger lives in a space that portrays some element of rocker edge? However, other than art inspired by the rock legend throughout the home (a Warhol of a young Mick hangs in the study), the space oozes Scott’s feminine, luxurious glamour.
One part model, (at 6 foot 3 inches, Scott walked the runway for Chanel Couture and Thierry Mugler in her younger years), stylist, (having worked behind the lens for famed photographer Herb Ritts), and acclaimed designer, Utah-born Scott has lived une vie en vogue. Remnants of this journey - the same flowing silk she uses to design her evening gowns dressing the windows, prized family treasures, and carefully hunted and curated antique finds representing Art Deco through Post-War eras - can be found throughout the vaulted, turn of the century space. Perfectly gorgeous.

I feel very fortunate to have the pleasure of working with interior designers on a daily basis (talk about creative inspiration!) While I can’t say I have worked with Paris-based, award-winning interior architects Gilles & Boissier, the name, already familiar to me, came up in a recent meeting. I flocked to their website, subsequently daydreaming that this Parisian apartment is mine. Casual French elegance, neutral palette, clean lines and big art; what more could you want?

Designed by French architecture firm SO-AN, this 1950’s-inspired space on Rue le Notre in Paris, is an absolute dream. My favorite features? The gorgeous chevron wood flooring, custom lighting, Calacatta marble and every element of the kitchen (those stools! that wine cabinet!) The property is the perfect paradox of contemporary nostalgia.

German-born marketer, Josephine Gintzburger has worked with the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne for over 20 years, inclusive of a number of prestigious fashion houses such as Armani, Celine, Christian Dior and Louis Vuitton. Josephine has recently taken the plunge into interior design, and this peak inside her gorgeous Parisian apartment certainly does her talent justice.
The 2150 square foot (200m2), Saint Eustache apartment wreaks of Josephine’s design philosophy: to utilize the contrast of her German-French background and create unique and personal spaces. The bare bones of the space - floor to ceiling windows and exposed wooden beams and rafters - provide an architecturally stunning base. The dark floors and furniture in the main living area are pleasantly offset with white walls, and pops of colour by means of statement furniture and art. The damask wallpaper and ornate mirrors of the bathroom and bedroom are reminiscent of the old Paris feel one might expect walking into the home, while the kitchen - perhaps my favorite room in the house - is infused with vibrant pinks and reds, paired in contrast with black gloss and stainless steel.
