As a former Ralph Lauren designer and recently appointed Artistic Director for Alvin Valley, Nicole Hanley Mellon certainly has a great eye; she and husband Matthew Mellon’s Pierre New York abode proves to be nothing short of an art lover’s dream. The space is eclectic while refined; the type of “random” effortlessness that only comes from year’s of curating adored pieces and a seasoned designer’s touch. My favorite elements? Other than the unique collection of art (much of which is by artist Peter Beard), I love the bursts of yellow from the door panels to statement furniture pieces to quirky accessories throughout the main living area. Simply stunning.
